GO!!

October 22nd, 2006

Ok…

Am borded. Dan has gone back to his flat now, leaving me to print of the lecture slides. I have 2 pieces of cousework to be handed in at the end of next week (or is it this week now?) and another piece for the week after that.

Went to St Mary the Virgin church in Wheatley today, it felt really good to be in a church service again. The choir that was there consisted of 2 men, 3 ladies and the choirmistress/organist. I think I may have to join just to boost their numbers a bit! They use the same hymn book as they use back at home.

Got to go now

get set…

Got set first major piece of coursework today - have to create a relational database and front end for a club or society, so 5 of us are doing a project for the computing society. It is going to be an online support portal for computing modules and anything else computing based! Hope that we can manage it!

Something else that’s happening thanks to the society, a company has approached us about finishing off something called wxCocoa. It helps to make running the same software on multiple operating systems much easier! So… we are needing to learn C and objective-C for it, fun fun. So tomorrow we are going around to my wonderful friend called Dave’s place, and we are having a learn C session, then we are going to make a 1m long Curly-Wurly, then we are having a fruit salad with mars bar sauce, then a Japanese marinated chickeny thingy and a vegetable stir fry.

On your marks

Just thought that I should try letting people know what is going on at Uni so I decided to write a blog, it will probably help my writing and typing skills too.

Oxford is sooo gorgous, and Wheatley is even prettier! This is a wonderful place to be. In Wheatley there are 5 pubs; the Kings Arms, the Railway, the King and Queen, the Plough and another one. There is an Asda which is only a 10 minute walk away from the campus, so that is very usefull! There are 4 churches in Wheatley, but I still haven’t managed to get to any of the services. The first week - I got to the church to find out that the service had been cancelled for the curates ordination. The second sunday I didn’t get up in time. Last sunday I woke up with a really bad earache, and so decided to give it a miss. Maybe I’ll get there next sunday!

I have tonsilitus at the moment, (which is what caused the earache), and the anti-biotics make me feel really horrible. :(

Hopefully on monday I will be able to move from my room J11 to J9, which is just a couple of doors down the hallway. J9 is almost exactly the same, but is tons bigger than my current room, and has a little more storage and a spare bed. Luckily I will still be able to pick up any mail sent to J11, so not much will change in that respect.

My parents are coming over on sunday, and Dan, my boyfriend, is going to meet them. SCARY! :o They are also bringing up some stuff for me, tis very nice of them :)

anyway - need to tidy up a bit - hopefully will see ya soon!
